How many saves can you have in sims 3

The original catch all. General game help, banter, things you should probably put in the correct forum, This is the place. How many save games Sims 3 can show? I had the issue that some of my saved games were not displayed in the main menu. I thought, something went wrong and tried with older saves which were shown, tried to save under new name, but still not displayed. I then deleted a lot old saves and tried again and now my current save finally showed up.

Usually one sees the newest saves not appearing on the saved game selector screen after there are somewhere upwards of 50 saves. I don't know how others play, but I see no need for anything older than that if the last two were good saves. I am curious as to why someone would want to save so many though?

I do have back ups of my save folder that I update periodically with newer saves, I keep them elsewhere just in case something goes wrong. I just move everything I don't need to some backup folder on a different drive. Also, who wants to deal with that horrible savegame selector, if you have more than 20 or 30 saves in there? Just save the file like you do any other time and it will show up on the loading screen. When there are more than four saved games, an arrow will appear so you can scroll sideways and see all the other saves. Read and heed the Forum Rules , please!
